Preventing climate change from reaching a scenario that poses an existential threat to humanity is a complex and urgent challenge that requires collective action at the global, national, and individual levels.
While you, as an individual alone, cannot single-handedly solve the climate crisis, your actions can contribute significantly to mitigating its impacts. Here are steps you can take:
1. Reduce carbon emissions:
- Use energy-efficient appliances and light bulbs.
- Reduce, reuse, and recycle to minimise waste and reduce the carbon footprint of manufacturing and disposal.
- Drive less and use public transportation, or carpool. Cycling or walking when possible is great Exercise.
- Choose a fuel-efficient or electric vehicle if you can afford one.
- Reduce air travel or explore alternative transportation methods when possible.
2. Conserve energy:
- Install a programmable thermostat to optimise heating and cooling.

- Unplug electronics when not in use or use smart power strips.
- Switch to renewable energy sources if available, like solar or wind power.
3. Support renewable energy:
