Daily time commit:
5 minutes +
Tidy & Clean
Spend 5 minutes + per day giving your home a tidy, and where needed, a clean.
Stop as soon as the tidying or cleaning feels like a chore, as long as the initial daily 5 minutes has been completed so that you can cross off this area of The Framework.
The below checklists show you the latest that you should perform the cleaning of the various areas. Where you can see that you need to clean sooner, do it if you have the time and the motivation to do so.
Tidying
Tidying is making a place neat and orderly
Cleaning

3.
Hoover
Hoovering
As well as keeping your home dust-free, this cleaning activity will also help you to cross Exercise off The Framework too
4.
Mop
Mopping
After hoovering away any dust and loose dirt, mop to prevent a build-up of grime and bacteria
5.
Bed sheets
Washing the bed sheets
Change your bed sheets to keep dust mite and other allergens at bay. Wash them at 60C (or 40C minimum)
6.
Bath mat
Washing the bath mat
As with your bed sheets, change and wash your bath mat to keep it fresh, and bacteria and mould free
7.
Washer
Cleaning the washer
Regular cleaning will prolong the life of your machine by getting rid of clogging bacteria from detergent residue
8.
Dishwasher
Cleaning the dishwasher
As with your washing machine, regular cleaning will prevent a build-up of bacteria and improve performance
9.
Mow
Mowing
Regularly mowing the lawn makes it easier. This activity also crosses off Exercise and Fresh Air from The Framework
Tidying first helps you to see any dust, dirt and grime that is building up more easily, allowing you to clean more effectively. Don’t forget to hoover the ceiling for those cobwebs!
Quarterly Cleaning Checklist:
Your quarterly cleaning checklist is below. Do these sooner, but not later.
1.
Bin
Cleaning the bin
Clean and disinfect your bins (inside and outside) to keep bacteria and bad odours at bay before they attract flies
2.
Windows
Cleaning the windows
Regular cleaning prevents a build-up of rainwater, debris, and pollutants on the glass, which obstruct the natural light
3.
Car
Cleaning the car
Clean the car inside and out to keep it dust-free, smelling nicely and ensure clear visibility for a safe drive
Keeping things clean reduces the risks of sickness and allergies
Annual Cleaning Checklist:
Your annual cleaning checklist is below. Spring-clean anybody?
1.
Fridge
Cleaning the fridge
Give your fridge a deep-clean so it smells fresh, as well as banishing bacteria and germs and preventing food poisoning
2.
Microwave
Cleaning the microwave
Unsightly food splatters in the microwave not only smell bad but are a fire risk. Deep-clean to kill any residue and bacteria
3.
Oven
Cleaning the oven
As with the microwave, a dirty oven is a higher fire risk than a clean one as the spills and food debris can burn
4.
Extractor
Cleaning the extractor hood
Keep the kitchen extractor fan above your cooker grease-free to remove the fire risk and keep it working efficiently
5.
Sofa
Cleaning the sofa
Prolong the life of your sofa by hoovering and removing dirt and grime from it, keeping colours bright and bugs at bay
6.
Cupboards
Cleaning the cupboards
Deep-clean your kitchen and bathroom cupboards (inside and out) to remove any grime build-up, keeping them fresh
7.

8.
Doors
Wiping down the doors
Remove bacteria and germs from doors by removing dust and fingerprints as you wipe them down
9.
Radiators
Wiping down the radiators
Radiators are a costly dust magnet. A build-up stops the heat escaping, making it harder to warm a room
10.
Skirtings
Wiping down the skirting boards
After hoovering your skirting boards to remove dust, wipe them down to remove stains and touch them up as needed
11.
Curtains
Washing the curtains and blinds
Keep curtains and blinds dust and grease-free to reduce allergens and smell fresh. And do not forget those nets.
12.
Gutters
Clearing and cleaning the gutters
Leaves, moss, and other debris get stuck in your guttering causing blockages. Keep rainwater free flowing
Smell the clean!
